Privacy policy
In short: no ad trackers, no social plugins, no third-party services. For privacy-friendly audience measurement we use a self-hosted Matomo without cookies – you can object at any time.

2. Hosting and server log files
This website runs on web space provided by an external hosting provider under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. When you visit, the web server automatically processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable delivery of the website. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless security incidents require longer retention.
3. Language detection and cookies
The website language is chosen based on your browser or device language setting (HTTP header “Accept-Language”). Your location is never derived from your IP address.
If you pick a language manually, we store that choice in a cookie named lang (value “de” or “en”, lifetime 12 months). This cookie is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly requested and therefore exempt from consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. Another cookie is only set if you object to web analytics (see section 4).
4. Web analytics with Matomo
To understand which content is used and to improve the comparison, we use the open-source software Matomo. Matomo runs on a server operated by us (analytics.mtnit-infra.de); the data is not shared with third parties or combined with other data.
Matomo is configured not to set any cookies. It processes: your IP address shortened by two bytes, pages viewed and time on page, date and time, referrer URL, browser, operating system, screen resolution, language setting, clicks on external links and the service recommended by the service finder (not your individual answers). This does not allow individual persons to be identified.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the statistical analysis and improvement of our service. Raw data is deleted after 180 days at the latest.
You can object to this at any time. Your objection is stored in a cookie named mtm_consent_removed, which is technically required for this purpose. If you delete your cookies, you will need to object again.
5. No third parties
Fonts, stylesheets and scripts are loaded exclusively from our own server or our own Matomo instance. No content from Google Fonts, content delivery networks, social media platforms or advertising networks is embedded.
The website links to the streaming services compared. Only when you click such a link do you leave our website; the respective provider is responsible for any processing there.
6. Contacting us
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related requests, otherwise point (f)). The data is deleted once no longer required, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption for security. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in the address bar.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Please use the contact details above.
